Nike Air Kukini II - Size 9 (2000)

this blacked-out version of the high-tech runner stands as one of nike's most recognizable alpha project offerings, with their spider webbed overlays eliminating the need for laces and synthetic mesh uppers allowing them to be manufactured in a wide selection of colors & digitally printed graphics in their first run from 2000 to 2007.

with no shortage of subcultural relevance, the kukini's return in 2022 felt long overdue for some. despite being well past their expiration date by this point, these early kukinis are cherished by many as artifacts from nike's golden age of footwear design.
