Nike Shox XT4 - Size 11 (2001)
behold, the long lost cross trainer that was supposed to debut in 2001 to complete the original shox triad. developed during the highly experimental heyday of nike's alpha project line, the XT4 went the way of icarus and was quickly recalled due to a very unique design flaw that lies within the way their shox units are configured: their lack of a tapered spring plate or V-shaped transition wedge would put enough load on the shox columns to cause their adhesive to fail prematurely when stressed - or at least that's what i could splice together from a few old niketalk posts discussing the matter. whether or not a looming design infringement suit from reebok played a part in the demise of the original shox triad has still yet to be confirmed, but would not be unlikely at all.
surviving examples of these are very, very difficult to come by for the sole reason that a vast majority of them were destroyed as a result of the recall. this pair is brand new, unworn, and in pristine condition.
