• INFO: 1986 to 1987 marked Nike's first & only foray into the realm of sailing spearheaded by the late OG Nike employee, Geoff Hollister, and with it came a small handful of limited edition nautical footwear & apparel. The Mad Jibe is a reinterpretation of different two different boat shoes from the early 80s outfitted to a standard Nike Dunk sole for a more modern, casual approach to the topsider style.

There is a model within Nike's Boating Line footwear lineup named the KA-15 that shares the same full grain leather construction as these salesman samples. This model also sports horizontal plastic ridges on the heels similar to those used on the Air Jordan 2, so you could consider them tangentially related if you wanted to - the two silhouettes are essentially cousins.
