Nike ACG Air Tumalo GTX II - Unreleased Sample (2004)
- no box included
- men's size 9, women's size 10.5 (27cm)
- 7.5/10 condition: fully intact with significant midsole separation throughout each boot, white paint marks on the lateral sides of the mudguards, small stains/water spots near the vamps, fading in the smooth leather portions of the tongue & collar, insole sample sticker is mostly worn away, and cracking throughout the outsoles; in overall good preowned vintage condition for being 19 years old - likely unwearable in their current state, ideal for collection, restoration, or display purposes as-is
- features double-stitched nubuck uppers fitted with selectively permeable waterproof gore-tex & moisture wicking dri-fit membranes, gusseted leather tongues up to the 5th eyelets, TPU ankle support wings, woven nylon heel & tongue pull tabs, nylon ghillie lace loops, polished gunmetal speed hooks with matching gore-tex placards, hard-wearing rubber toe caps, composite speedplate midfoot shanks, dense phylon (?) midsoles, and vibram outsoles; made in china
- coming hard on the heels of the air exum, air cinder cone, & air tumalo GTX designed in collaboration with @exumguides, the tumalo II continued on its then 10 year legacy as a tough, lightweight hiking boot - only now capable of shielding their wearer from rain, snow, sleet, mud, & even their own sweat; these sample samples' most notable aesthetic differences from retail pairs are their midsoles being off-black instead of grey, metal gore-tex placards instead of embroidered logos, the panel under the support wingsand a midfoot mini swoosh that didn't seem to make the cut - while the first tumalo GTX bore the esteemed 'oregon series' namesake, i wasn't able to find anything suggesting these do as well
- these boots were designed by the best in the industry, for the best in the industry, making them something of an ACG collector's dream; take advantage of a very rare opportunity to own a unique piece of nike's rugged mountaineering history
